We are proud to announce that AXM has been selected as a Trusted Partner under the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) for Industrial AI in the Global South.
Among applicants from around the world, only a small cohort of approximately a dozen organizations was selected to participate in the next phase of the initiative. UNIDO leads the program through AIM Global, in partnership with the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, and brings together organizations that are developing trusted AI infrastructure and public goods for global deployment.
AXM's selected submission, "Digital Public Infrastructure for Trusted AI Ecosystems," reflects the direction our company has pursued since its founding.
AI Needs Infrastructure, Not Just Models
Much of today's conversation around artificial intelligence focuses on model performance. Equally important, however, is the infrastructure that determines whether AI systems are trustworthy, interoperable, and accountable.
As AI increasingly creates, transforms, and distributes digital content, systems need reliable ways to answer fundamental questions:
Who created this?
Who has authority over it?
What permissions govern its use?
How can those permissions be understood automatically by machines?
These questions cannot be solved through policy alone. They require shared technical infrastructure.
At AXM, we believe authorship, provenance, identity, and programmable consent should function as digital public infrastructure—allowing AI systems to interact with creative works in ways that are transparent, verifiable, and respectful of rights holders.
Building Trusted AI Ecosystems
Our work focuses on making digital rights and authority machine-readable.
Rather than replacing existing copyright, licensing, or governance systems, AXM creates interoperable infrastructure that allows institutions, creators, publishers, estates, archives, and AI developers to communicate trusted information across digital ecosystems.
This recognition by UNIDO reinforces an idea that has guided our research and development: trusted AI depends on trusted infrastructure.
Looking Ahead
As a Trusted Partner, AXM looks forward to contributing to knowledge sharing, technical collaboration, standards discussions, pilot initiatives, and future activities under the Global Industrial AI Public Goods Initiative.
We are grateful to UNIDO, AIM Global, and our fellow Trusted Partners for the opportunity to help advance AI infrastructure that is open, interoperable, and globally beneficial.
This milestone also reflects the contributions of our collaborators across academia, industry, and the public sector who continue to advance the emerging field of Digital Public Infrastructure for Authorship and Trusted AI Ecosystems.
The future of AI will not be built solely through larger models.
It will also be built through better infrastructure.
